Rampage Mechanics

By Xanax

We have some new people, some returning people, and some existing players that probably think they don’t need to know this stuff. I ask that you all to at least review the video below regarding rampage mechanics.

Why are we talking about rampage again?

If you’re part of the pull team, tagging team, a tank, or melee in general, I’d like you to keep reading. We’ve had problems with rampage over the years and recently those issues keep coming back. The raid leadership would like to make some changes to how we approach pulling VT, tagging, debuffing, in order to try and straighten things out.

One voice

First off, when the wrong people get on rampage, a few too many people start shouting instructions. We’d like to lower that to one or two people who will give key instructions to try and fix a bad ramp tank placement. Ideally that should be one of the pullers, and Chararak would like to step up in that role.

Pulling bosses

We want to change the order of operations a bit to ensure good ramp placement and try to free up our 1-2 SKs to fill an empty ramp slot if needed.

  • Chararak will dirty tag (1st ramp slot)
  • SK will clean tag (2nd ramp slot)
  • Chararak will levant (1st ramp slot opens)
  • Paladin tags the boss (1st ramp slot refilled)
  • All other warriors will then shoot an arrow, filling the next 2 slots.

This way once our debuffers begin casting, the first few slots are filled and we should have enough on the list to protect them. As long as those first four don’t die before the rest of the raid gets on the threat table, we should be able to have an SK flop and fill any rampage slots that open during the fight, like if the paladin on ramp goes down.

We’ll probably start trying to tighten these mechanics up on our Mon/Fri VT raids. Hopefully we’ll get better at this and not have to worry as much when PoP comes out. Thank you for reading!
